Academic pricing is available to full/part time students, teachers or registered institutions only. These discounts are provided with the intention of subsidising students who are on a reduced income, and therefore unable to meet full retail prices.

Additionally, discounts are applied to facilitate professional educators to distribute the software for the purposes of educating students. As such all discounts are at the sole discretion of Mindsystems and there is an implied expectation that these discounts are used in the intention to which they are offered. Individual purchasers must provide valid identification before the goods will be released.

Am I eligible to receive an educational discount?

We offer discounted pricing for full/part time students, teachers and endorsed education institutions. All applications for a discount will be considered equally against a fixed set of criteria. Applications from the following are acceptable;

• Full or part time students currently attending studies at an endorsed education institution (ie. college, university, TAFE or polytechnic).
• Full teachers or educators attending an endorsed education institution.
• Administrative representatives or purchasing officers of an endorsed education institution, where the purchase is for the exclusive purpose of distribution of the product to students and teachers of that institution.

Each application is considered carefully against Mindsystems internal criteria and the supplied identification. Mindsystems reserves the right to decline an application for discount if deemed to be outside the scope of the criteria and policy.

If declined, Mindsystems will provide a reasonable explanation, but accepts no liability expressed or implied, for any negative consequences our decision may have.

What is an 'endorsed' institution?

An 'endorsed' institution is a education institution that is deemed by Mindsystems to fall into one of the following categories;

• Registered Schools - Inclusive of primary, high schools and secondary colleges.
• Registered Universities - A university that is currently registered and permitted to operate within the country that the purchase is made.
• Registered Higher Education Institutions - A college, TAFE, polytechnic or similar higher education organisation that is currently registered and permitted to operate within the country that the purchase is made. This category is for the purposes of covering institutions that may not necessarily be referred to as a 'university', but that offer equivalent course or degree programmes.

Examples of institutions that are not eligible include;

• Private Business Colleges or Corporate Training Organisations - Private corporate training institutions dealing primarily in corporate job training courses, short courses or diplomas. Typically these institutions are full fee paying private companies that offer career specific or employer sponsored training for full time employees. Examples would be short IT courses, technical training courses or employer sponsored training.
• Unregistered Education Institutions - This category encompasses all institutions that are not officially registered or permitted to operate within the country that the purchase is made, or for which Mindsystems is unable to verify the institutions registration.
• Unlawful Institutions - Institutions that are deemed under Australian law to be; illegal, in violation of anti-discrimination laws, have a history of illegal or immoral activity, have direct or indirect legally proven involvement in terrorist activities, demonstrate support for terrorist acts or have been black listed by the Australian Government are not eligible.

*Please note that unlawful institutions or individuals of this type are also unable to make standard non-discounted purchases. Requests for information or support from such institutions or individuals will be rejected without justification or explanation.

How much will the discount save me as compared with the full price?

As a general rule discounts vary between 15-50% off the full retail price dependant on the product and any special offers that are available at the time of application.
